Background:
- Make your background out of old gig posters, newspaper clippings, grainy photocopies, band posters, press photos of musicians, prints of album covers, etc.
- Choose your colour scheme, if you're going to use one, from that.
Ephemera:
- photographs you took, ticket stubs, magazine articles, gig bracelets, stickers that depict things typical of that genre, t-shirt images, band logos.
Text:
- write about what you like, add song lyrics, use hand-lettering to write out a band's name and embellish it.
Fonts:
- For punk/rock: rough, DIY lettering.
- For jazz: handwriting, something elegant.
Embellish:
- For punk: you could distress or tear edges and papers.
- For jazz: images of music notes, abstract shapes, sheet music, pages of a fake book.
