|    home

You will need:

  • Assorted small, colourful items like broken tiles, glass beads, buttons, etc.
  • Base surface wood, cardboard, or any sturdy surface
  • Adhesive glue suitable for the chosen base and materials
  • Gloves
  • Grout (optional)
  • Grout sealer (optional)
  • Resin (optional)
  • Transparent paints or dyes (optional)
  • Additional tiny items such as glitter, beads, shells, broken ceramic, glass shards, etc.

Do:

  • Plan your design and apply adhesive to small sections of the base to place the items.
  • Let everything dry completely.

Or:

  • Use a cradled panel (normally used for painting on) or a shadow box.
  • Place your items into the box side and fix them down.
  • When the glue's dried, fill the area with resin to seal the items in.
  • Add extra things to the resin while it's still wet to add interest.
  • Use dyes to colour the resin while it's still wet, then allow it to cure/dry completely.

Notes:

  • You might want to attach wall hanging hardware to the cradle or wood box before you fill it.
